Yep, that’s right, we’re encouraging you to indulge in a little crack. Bacon crack, that is, from the Willy Wonka mind of Kai Kronfield, the man behind popular dessert pop-up, Nosh This. So what’s in bacon crack? You better locate a tissue, because what you’re about to read is going to make you drool. Start with fried-to-a-crisp bacon mixed with butter-toffee, almonds and salt dipped in 72% chocolate. Hey, we warned you.
Kai’s treats are available in 10 stores around the Bay, including seven in San Francisco, and now he’s teaming up with Hayes Valley’s beloved charcuterie provider, Fatted Calf, to add their bacon-y deliciousness to his already mouthwatering treats. We’re talking bacon dry-rubbed with brown sugar, sea salt and spices and smoked over applewood. Kai says when he met a Fatted Calf staff member at one of his events, he told him he needed to be in the store, and from there, the fit was just natural.
Nosh This debuted the Fatted Calf Bacon Crack last Wednesday during Fatted Calf’s pork happy hour with samples of the famous goodies. They’re now available for sale at the Hayes Valley and Napa locations.
