“Instead of saying ‘I would like this or I would like that’, you tell us what you do not eat,” says owner Mike Horri. “It’s not the normal dinner out. It’s a special event.”Mike Horri earned his rep by building a “surprise seven-course dinner” around people's dislikes. No, he doesn't cook foods you hate. He uses the list to make sure he avoids those things. You tell him your food allergies, specific eating habits and the flavors and foods that don’t do it for you, and he creates custom cuisine. “Instead of saying ‘I would like this or I would like that’, you tell us what you do not eat,” says Mike, “it’s not the normal dinner out. It’s a special event.”
That old-world dining style is the mainstay of Pasta Freska, but the local workforce loves the Wednesday afternoon buffet, too. Thick, grainy-crust pizza, fresh antipasto, steaming veggies and cheese-drenched lasagna, served hot and often for three hours to those in the know. Hundreds of Thank You notes and Polaroids of Mike and his smiling customers are crammed between frescoes championing good eats on a corkboard. Next up: an all-cork Space Needle. Seriously. And we’re pretty sure the pots of meatballs simmering in marinara in the kitchen is the origin of the word awesomesauce.
Surprise! Mike and his crew are going to build your 7-course meal based on what you tell them you can’t or won’t eat, $20 to $100 including wine
