Owner and former firefighter/paramedic Jeremy Gruber has turned this 100-year-old firehouse into a hot spot of a different kind. Find classic American fare, 30+ rotating beers, live music and ample seating on two floors, plus a spacious patio next to a real fire engine. And of course, what firehouse would be complete without 5-Alarm Buffalo Wings baked and flash fried? Or huge, beer-battered onion rings (cleverly named Smoke Rings), served with a rosy Smoke Sauce? And while those things are worth the trip (make that multiple trips), the coup de grace at Fire Station 1 is the signature Smoke Stack burger.
