Because where else in DC does a buzzing, flashing robot greet you at the door? And that's not even the main reason to visit Rocket Bar, a cavernous, subterranean sports bar and pool hall located right across from the Verizon Center. I can think of at least 14 more. That just happens to be the number of beers on draft, ranging from old standards like Miller Lite to craftier brews like Flying Dog. And if beer's not your bag, no big deal. Rocket Bar has three fully-stucked bars suited for mixed drinks and...SHOTS! "Jaeger shots happen pretty regularly," said Rocket Bar's General Manager Markus Smith. And why wouldn't they? Rocket Bar is all about fun, from the Jetsons-esque décor to the rows of pool tables, skee ball and various other arcade games. Rocket Bar is also unequivocally unapologetic about repping DC sports. They even hosted a draft party last month to welcome the greatness that is RGIII. But I digress... make sure to grab a meal before you go because this bar concentrates solely on libations, and ready your high-five hand because you'll be doing that a lot.
