Café Sazón

50% off Café Sazón
Café Sazón covers all the basics plus more with its rad selection of Bolivian and other South and Latin American favorites.
Cafés are expected to offer the usual standards: coffee, pastries, and maybe soups, salads and wraps if they're really trying hard. But one café along Arlington's Columbia Pike offers more. Café Sazón covers all the basics plus more with its rad selection of Bolivian and other South and Latin American favorites, like the "desayuno tipico," which is composed of beans with cream, yuca fries, eggs and homemade bread. Other favorites at this large and spotless spot include the daily specials (try the fish dishes on Mondays and Tuesdays) and the Silpancho, which Adriana Torres, who owns Café Sazon with her sister Claudia Camacho, describes as the Bolvian version of chicken-fried steak. And now, that doesn't simply mean it's served with a side of alpaca. It's pounded and sauteed beef served over rice with potatoes and topped with two fried eggs and pico de gallo. It goes great with a cup of moconchi, a tea-like beverage made of stewed peaches (imported from the Andes) and spices. Made fresh all the time, this is beverage hits all the right spots on the adventurous tongue.
