Welcome to comfort food heaven.I have four words for you: pretzel crusted fried pickles. And what the heck? Lemme add five more: served with housemade horseradish mustard. Welcome to comfort food heaven, otherwise known as The Pinch, Columbia Heights' best and most delicious new bar. Yet despite its young age, it's already a neighborhood favorite. Of course, how could we not fall in love with something called the Meat Lovers on the menu. It's a 7 oz. house-seasoned burger that's topped with bacon, cheddar, fried onions and—wait for it—pulled duck marinated in hoisin sauce. Pair it with the perfect brew (Ashley Brudowsky, who owns the bar with Carlos Eyster and Dan Maceda recommends DC Brau's porter) and you have a meal worth running a few minutes longer on the treadmill for. Or just buying larger pants. You'll be able to afford it because the prices here are beyond reasonable for the kind of quality they serve up. "We take every detail seriously," said Carlos. "And actually I can't think of anything we don't do here in-house." Which means I can't think of anything I don't want to eat immediately.
