Killer ESP makes King Street a billion times cooler. Opt for the pour-over coffee, the famous handmade gelato or a slice of Dangerously Delicious Pie. Or all three. (No judgement.)Old Town Alexandria is known to be more elegant than cool. More classic than contemporary. More child-on-hip than hipster. Well, forget about your stereotypes because walking into Killer ESP is like walking into an urban oasis. First, we noted the street-inspired art lining the wall. Made entirely by locals, it makes a dang fine backdrop to all the deliciousness offered. Don't miss the coffee provided by Stumptown. If the weather's hot, opt for the cold-brew coffee which is made in a three-foot apparatus that looks like a prop off the set of Weird Science. "It turns out smoother this way," said Rob, the super-friendly owner, who isn't just a coffee lover but a man of coffee science. "The best way to enjoy hot coffee is by brewing it pour-over style," he continued. "It's so smooth, you don't even need sugar." It's true. As people who enjoy our cream and sugar with a little coffee, a cup of pour-over allowed us to drink it straight. And it was glorious! Should patrons want to add to their caffeine buzz, they can opt for for a slice of Dangerously Delicious Pie, an empanada from DC's famous Julia's, or some homemade gelato. Or all three. (No judgement.) You'll walk it all off up and down King Street anyway, right?
