"We're 'Jamerican,'" said chef and owner Peaches, who, by the way, has been cooking for a few decades now. "So, I do a lot of fusion. I think using my creativity is my favorite thing about cooking. I love it."If you've yet to hear of the neighborhood Manor Park, Peaches Kitchen & Restaurant is a fine introduction. In fact, it's so fine, you'll probably refer to Manor Park from here on out as "you know, that part of town where Peaches is." So, what makes this place so great? "We're all about making everything to order and homemade," said Ms. Peaches, herself, who brought all the goodness of Jamaican spice with her when she moved here and opened her restaurant six years ago. Of course, while the jerk BBQ chicken is some of the best in town, there's much more to Peaches than that. "We're 'Jamerican,'" said Peaches, who, by the way, has been cooking for a few decades now. "So, I do a lot of fusion. I think using my creativity is my favorite thing about cooking. I love it." And we love eating it. The stuffed salmon served with spiced green beans and rice made our taste buds extremely happy. Just like the homemade Oreo cheesecake. And now with a breakfast menu? Yes, we need to come to "that-part-of-town-where-Peaches-is" more often.
