"We don't even have a freezer!" said Chef Carole, who learned how to cook from her family in France, which means everything's fresh all the time. The second we walked into Annie's Bistro Français, we knew we were in good hands. Besides the decor, which is as charming as the real deal in Paris, this bi-level, warm-hued restaurant smelled good enough to eat. "We do everything fresh here," said Chef Carole, who learned how to cook from her family in France, and fittingly named the restaurant after her mother. "We don't even have a freezer!" This means everything you eat today most likely arrived at the restaurant that morning. "We only use local purveyors," said Carole's husband and co-owner Mark. "So, we keep things seasonal by necessity, but that's what we prefer anyway." As diners, that's what we prefer too. Plus, with a menu that changes literally every day, there's always something new to try (and ultimately fall in love with). Please note, though, because this place has become a go-to spot for many-a-local, phone reservations are required (just give them a ring at 301-657-0080)—and bon appetit!
