While it's your typical Irish bar in attitude, the menu begs to differ. Alongside the Irish classics are Cajun and southern favorites, like jambalaya and more.Just like age ain't nothin' but a number (at least that's what Aaliyah taught us), Chinatown ain't nothin' but a name. Which might be why one of the city's best Irish pubs is located smack dab in the middle of it. Featuring a lot less Mandarin and a lot more Gaelic, the owners of this popular neighborhood restaurant are from Ireland, just like the general manager and several of the other staff. But just 'cause the attitude leans Emerald Isle, doesn't necessarily mean the whole menu does. "We have a bit of a Cajun twist," said Marcus, the manager, and a bit of a southern soul, meaning get a load of the jambalaya or the Shrimp Kenmare, which involves cheddar cheese, bacon, cabbage slaw and jalepenos. The real star on the menu, though, is the Channel Burger. Served on a croissant roll with all the fixin's you want, this juicy all-beef reinvented classic is also the most popular menu item. Pair it with Guinness or the more than two dozen other brews available, and be prepared to enjoy yourself and all your new friends. "Come back twice," said Marcus, "and I bet we'll remember your name."
