Rasoi Indian Kitchen

50% off Rasoi Indian Kitchen
"We have a lot of vegan options," said PK, the owner, who told us veganism isn't really a thing over in India. "We adapted these recipes for the wide variety of diners in the area." But even meat lovers will fall for the Gobi Manchurian, too.
While it may be inconspicuous from the outside, once we opened the glass doors of this nonchalant K Street eatery, we were emerged—mind, body and nose (the aromas are magnificent)—into a whole new world, one filled with some of DC's most expertly crafted Indian cuisine. And while the lunch buffet is awesome (and also so well-priced we'd feel bad using this Scoutmob deal on it), ordering the made-from-scratch, totally fresh dishes straight off the menu is how we prefer to do it.

The classics are great here, like the chicken tikka masala and lamb vindaloo, but this menu's got a whole section of signature fare that's unique to Rasoi's kitchen. "We have a lot of vegan options," said PK, the owner, who told us veganism isn't really a thing over in India. "We adapted these recipes for the wide variety of diners in the area." On that note, many of Rasoi's dishes are, or can be, easily made gluten-free. We're huge fans of the Gobi Manchurian, which is composed of crispy cauliflower florets in a sweet and sour sauce. Paired with one of the more rare Indian brews diners can find here (try the big bottle of the Golden Eagle), this turned out to be one heckuva satisfying meal.
