Panache Restaurant + Lounge

50% off Panache Restaurant + Lounge
Just like the street it sits on, Panache also exudes a NYC vibe–you're more likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger here about what you're drinking than what you do.
As soon as we turned the corner to get on Desales Street, which sits horizontally between Connecticut Avenue and 17th Street, just south of M Street, we felt transported. We looked at our bike and said, "Cornelius, we don't think we're in DC anymore." And while you might be shocked 1) that we call our bike Cornelius; and 2) that there's a little NY-style hidden street in the middle of very well-trafficked area of the city, wait 'til you step into Panache, a.k.a. our latest go-to spot for awesomeness.

Just like the street it sits on, Panache also exudes a NY vibe–you're more likely to strike up a conversation with a stranger here about what you're drinking than what you do. We came for a long lunch, complete with a oh-so-summertime-refreshing sangria-tini, which is basically a more booze-laden version of sangria (although you can get that here, too). We sipped it with a few small plates, most notably the prosciutto-wrapped figs. But don't fret if your stomach is as big as your eyes. The Italian chef here also serves up heaping piles of pasta and other lunch specialities. In summary, get here now.
