Whether it's serious storytelling, bicycle art or women and men with crazy stage names, wearing even crazier outfits and performing the craziest things, we have got you covered. In the immortal words of Kool & the Gang, if you really want it, get down on it.

WE DON’T WANT TO MISS:

SPEAKEASY DC PRESENTS...
Tuesday, August 9, 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Come early, bring a sandwich and grab a seat because some of the stories this group of brave strangers will tell you will almost certainly knock you over. For real, be prepared to laugh, cry, learn and maybe even do this because that's the thing about SpeakeasyDC -- you're never quite sure exactly how you'll react, but you're guaranteed a legitimately good time. This iteration's entitled Daredevils & Yellow-Bellies: Stories About Courage and Cowardice. Don't be afraid to attend! (Get it?)
Tickets cost $14 through this website

ALSO WORTH CHECKING OUT:

SECOND THURSDAY ART NIGHT: SULTRY SUMMER NIGHTS
Thursday, August 11, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
There's nary a better trail in the DC region than the one that heads out to Old Town Alexandria, so skip out of work early, put your happy hour on hold (just for a little while) and take thee to the Torpedo Factory for a free series of velo-themed gallery events. It's like the dang Willy Wonka Factory, but with art instead of candy (and no transformations into human blueberries...). There'll be an opening reception, an awards ceremony, a closing and, most curiously, free bike tune-ups, all set amid a musical backdrop provided by the friendly hippies of Petrol-Free Gypsy Carnival Tour.

STICKY BUNS BURLESQUE
Wednesday, August 10, 8 p.m.
Baltimore has birthed a lot of things into the world. Wham City? Check. The Wire? Check. Sticky Buns Burlesque (pictured)? Check...out their performance this week at DC's Red Palace bar out on H Street. They're wild, they're crazy, they're hot and, well, you don't have to twist Scoutmob's arm to get us to come out to something a little bit freaky.
Tickets are $10 at the door
