With this summer's Restaurant Week upon us, it's only fitting that Beer Week arrive, too, which means the overall theme of this guide is indulgence, mostly of the liquid variety. Because besides beer, we've also found a cocktail-themed event, which involves a bit of learning. (What we do for education...) And speaking of, there are some really talented student animators out there. Check it:
WE DON’T WANT TO MISS:
RYE BEER AND SPIRITS W/JACK ROSE AND 3 STARS BREWING

That's right, for $25, come get a flight of rye whiskeys hand-picked by the Jack Rose staff to drink with some B.W. TALL TALES: THE COCKTAILS OF NEW ORLEANS
Monday, August 15, 8 p.m.
N'Awlins is so hot right now. Literally, according to the Weather Channel, it's in the mid-nineties... which isn't unlike what it's been here, so why not enjoy some of that city's more boozey exports without having to hop aboard a jet-plane? And because we're all nerds, this event gets even better knowing that there's some learning involved. For $25, get three N.O.-style cocktails, such as the Sazerac, Vieux Carre, and Ramos Gin Fizz, and contemplate how they came to be via educational stories and tall tales.

CINE Awards and Screening
Tuesday, August 16, 7 p.m.
And because even the toughest of livers needs a break, check out the CINE Awards this Tuesday as part of the Independent Film Series happening at the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel. Weird location? Maybe, but the event itself is sure to be a good one. Up-and-coming award-winning filmmakers and animators will screen their work, which alludes to silent films, crazy robots, voodoo dolls and all kinds of other fun.
It's totally free!
