Unless you haven't been paying attention, you've probably heard of dubstep. It's gotten so popular in the last year that one producer of these big, wobbly sounds, Skrillex, even got nominated for five Grammy awards. Yes, dubstep has arrived, but if you ask DC producer Rex Riot about it, he'll tell you it's been kicking around his head for a while now. This finally culminated in the release of his latest EP, Luv Machine, earlier this month. I met up with Rex Riot to find out more about his life and to learn how such gigantic sounds are made.

Not enough? As noted, you can download Rex's latest here, and even better, come out and see him live at District on January 15 where he'll be teaming up with DJ Basscamp and some others to throw a party. "There's going to be a $10 all-you-can-drink Jameson deal for the first hour, so if you don't get in trouble after that, you're doing something wrong." Purchase tickets here.
