One of our favorite arts blogs/advocates, The Pinkline Project, alerted us to a new DC tourism video that's currently making the Internet rounds. Take a look then we'll chat:

Whaddya y'all think? Your Scoutmob staff thinks it's a definite improvement over some of the others we've found on the Internet... In short, it's nice to see a cinematographer present DC to outsiders as more than just the khaki-clad seat of government. Yes, newsflash world, people actually live here, and not just because their jobs require them to. Some of us actually choose this fate.

That said, while we understand with the length of this video the filmmakers couldn't include everything, we thought there were a few key DC things missing. For one, we'd have included a lot more food porn. Sure, we get a glimpse of Spike Mendohlson's dashing visage gazing upon us from above, a nighttime shot of Ben's Chili Bowl lighting up our bowels screens and a view of what looks like a downtown restaurant, but what about the rest of it? Mainly, what about all of our dope-as-hell food trucks?

On the other hand, we love that they included a shot of a cool-lookin' gal in a gauze skirt riding a Bikeshare cycle with pastel balloons tied to the back (we want to befriend her), which shows that not all DCers look like they stepped off the set of Office Space. Plus, we learned there's apparently a field with a bunch of standalone columns in it somewhere around town. (Sidebar: Where is it and also we want to go to there!)

So, what do you think? Like it? Love it? What would you include in a DC tourism video? Tweet us with your suggestions or join the conversation at Facebook. Who knows? Maybe we'll make our own video!
