It's that time of the year again, when the business in the U Street Corridor and Logan Circle join forces to present the public with the year's most epic sidewalk sale. Of course, we're talking about MidCity Dog Days, which'll go down this weekend, August 4-5. While the sheer number of businesses can seem more overwhelming than finding an honest politician (#badDCjoke), we're here to alleviate your stress and make sure you hit up the best spots. Here's what's up:

CLOTHES

For sweet vintage gear, stop by Legendary Beast (1520 U St., NW), which will have a $10 table outside, as well as lop 50 percent off any item that's not in a jewelry case in the store.

Treasury Vintage (1843 14th St., NW; 2nd Floor) will roll out its drool-inducing $5 rack. Go nuts.

VIsit Lettie Gooch (1517 U St., NW) up early, from 10 a.m. to noon, to hop on some early bird specials on contemporary women's clothing. Then get physical with a game of hopscotch to earn additional discounts.

Dress yourself, as well as support a good cause, by shopping at Martha's Outfitters (2114 14th St., NW). All clothing will see a 20 percent discount.

The owner of ZINA Boutique (1526 U St., NW) will cut her trendy inventory of women's clothing by 40 percent.

One of our favorite vintage stores, Junction (1510 U St., NW), plans on having $5 racks, $3 bins and giving away free sunglasses with a minimum purchase. The future's so bright.

FURNITURE, HOUSEWARES + HOME IMPROVEMENT

Do not miss out on Studio Theatre's (1501 14th St., NW) sidewalk sale, where you'll find old props that can make quirky decorative items and lots of vintage furniture.

Score 50 percent to 75 percent off kitchen gadgets and bathoom accessories at Home Rule (1807 14th St., NW. There's no excuse for a boring house.

To make your apartment look like Don and Megan Draper's without making those inflation-adjusted 1960s dollars, get to Millennium, where EVERY item in the store will be 10 percent to 50 percent off.

Continue the hunt for good vintage at Miss Pixie's Furnishing & Whatnot (1626 14th St., NW). This pink-clad shop will offer 20 percent off all its inventory.

Just like last year, Logan Hardware (1416 P St., NW) will be pitching a tent over their most discounted items on the street, as well as be giving away free popcorn.

MUSIC, MOVIES + ART

One of the most historical businesses on the block, visit Crown Pawnbrokers to hear live music and partake in a $1 DVD sale. Plus, the shop is offering 15 percent off all music equipment and instruments.

Speaking of music, SOM Records (1843 14th Street NW) is chopping 20 percent off all used LPs.

Get more art at Gallery plan b (1530 14th St., NW), where customers will get a 15 percent discount on all excess inventory.

E-cards are all right, but the way to truly impress those you love is by doing it the old-fashioned way—with real paper. Once again, PULP (1803 14th St., NW) will unleash its $1 bin. Get there early (it'll open at 11 a.m.) for the best selection.

PETS + GARDENING

Not your typical pet food, Planet Pet (1711 Florida Ave., NW) will be providing all dogs with a scoop of homemade ice cream. Score some for yourself, too. As long as it's not kibble flavored.

Turn some of that unneeded carbon dioxide into oxygen. Flowers on 14th (1712 14th St., NW) will be offering 20 percent off all houseplants.

VITTLES

It's everybody's birthday at CakeLove, (1506 U St., NW) where the bakers will be selling slices for $3.

Go ham at Smucker Farms of Lancaster County (2118 14th St., NW) when you'll be able to get 15 percent off all the cheese you want to buy.

Sit on one of the best roofdecks in town at Nellie's Sports Bar (900 U St., NW) and get an all-you-can-eat brunch for $24. Plus, the first mimosa is free! #glug

LIBATIONS

Although Chix (2019 11th St. NW) is mainly known for its delicious chicken dishes, we're super pumped for its promised $1 Tecates.

Get a caffeine fix at Peregrine (1718 14th St., NW), where an outside table will be serving up iced coffee and iced tea for just $2 a pop.

Cork Wine Bar (1720 14th St., NW) will be offering $6 blood orange mimosas.

Pearl Dive (1612 14th St., NW) will offer an all-day happy hour. Don't plan on driving.

Slightly off the regular path, 1905 Bistro & Bar (1905 9th St., NW; 2nd Floor) is offering an all-night happy hour (from 5 p.m. till close) for anyone who brings in a receipt from any Dog Days Sidewalk Sale. At this point, don't even plan on being able to stand up.

And of course, besides all the dope sales, don't miss out on some of the other activities. Listen Local First will be setting up six different stages, featuring over 40 local bands. We're most excited for The Fashion District Stage, which will be located on U St., between 15th and 16th St., NW. Not only will this stage feature one of our favorites, Dance for the Dying, but it'll feature 10 other awesome acts, as well. Get the low-down on all the stages here, and get all the updates on everything MidCity Dog Days by checking out its Facebook page.
