Whaddya doing this weekend? If you're looking to stuff your face with everything from artisan pickles to handmade ice cream, get yourself (and your face) to DC's newest culinary Mecca, Union Market. Located just north of Florida Ave. between 5th and 6th St., NE, this new foodie extravaganza will host over 40 local vendors, ranging from Righteous Cheese to Red Apron Butchery, as well as a dope soda shop, Buffalo & Bergan, (wo)manned by all-star bartender Gina Chersevani. (Does this mean I can haz booze in my pop?)
And while Union Market will be open year-round, there's good reason to get there this weekend because on Sunday, the market will host the DC Scoop ice cream/gelato/custard competition from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Get your lactose in check, 'cause the amount of milk products you'll be ingesting is going to get real.
Union Market (1309 5th St., NE) will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. See you there!
