You know the saying “When one door closes, another one opens?” We certainly hope that’s the case for two beloved SF spots. We all knew it was coming, but it was still a sad scene when the Red Vic rolled on its very last movie, and now it’s time to say goodbye to another city mainstay... K-O-K-O (See you real soon?) C-O-C-K, (Why? Because we like you!) T-A-I-L-S. They forewarned us July would be their last month serving their freshly squeezed juice cocktails, and here we are with just three more days to soak up the booze and memories. And in true KoKo fashion, they’re counting down the final days with a calendar of events that shaped the bar in to what it is today:
Friday, July 25, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.: The Last Bourbon & Bacon
Way better than the Last Supper, tonight is all about the basics of sustenance. Order a bourbon and get a slice of applewood smoked bacon.
Saturday, July 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Tenderloin Reading Series: A Farewell To Koko Cocktails
A bit like a eulogy at the funeral of a dearly departed, Tenderloin Reading Series is opening up the floor to anyone who has a fond memory of KoKo Cocktails to share.
We’re digging you, KoKo Cocktails, because you’ve shown us that if you’re forced to go out, at least go out big. You’ll be missed.
